A Paradise Valley job
Sammy brought her 2013 Chevy Malibu in from Paradise Valley with a slipping transmission. We rebuilt it, and her car was back to new working order.
Why Paradise Valley drivers make the trip
Worth the drive, in Mark's words
Mark puts it simply: the drive isn’t very far, and it’s worth it for the peace of mind of knowing your car is getting fixed the right way. Mark and Ken and their team have rebuilt thousands of transmissions, so a slipping Malibu is a normal Tuesday, not a mystery.

Hills, heat and transmissions
What Paradise Valley driving does to a transmission
Paradise Valley sits between Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain and Piestewa Peak, so plenty of trips start with a slow climb up a hillside street. Honda’s owner’s manual says driving in mountainous areas at very low speeds results in higher transmission temperatures. Add a Phoenix summer and the fluid works hard. (Your transmission would also like a resort day.)
Signs to get it checked
Slipping, harsh or delayed shifts and fluid leaks are the problems we see most. If you think you have a transmission problem, the check is free.
Repair, rebuild or replacement
Many problems need a repair, not a new transmission. When one can’t be fixed, we tell you whether a rebuild or a replacement makes more sense, like the rebuild that put Sammy’s Malibu back on the road.
Fluid service between repairs
Heat breaks fluid down, so we recommend changing it sooner here than the brochure suggests. Our fluid change and flush starts with a look at the fluid and how the car shifts.
Every type we work on
Automatic, manual, CVT, diesel and heavy-duty transmissions, on domestic cars, imports, trucks and SUVs.

Anything not covered here, call the shop on (602) 612-4198.
Is it worth driving from Paradise Valley to your shop?
Mark's answer: the drive isn't very far, and it's worth it for the peace of mind of knowing your car is getting fixed the right way. Most of it is freeway: SR-51 south, then I-10 west to the 43rd Avenue exit.
Can you tow my car from Paradise Valley?
Yes. When we do your transmission rebuild or replacement, towing is free up to $100. Call the shop and we'll help arrange it.
Does driving in the hills around Paradise Valley wear out a transmission faster?
It can. Honda's owner's manual says driving in mountainous areas at very low speeds results in higher transmission temperatures and calls for more frequent fluid changes. Heat is hard on transmission fluid, so stay on top of fluid service.
How much does transmission repair cost?
It depends on what is wrong, so we diagnose it first. You get a detailed written estimate with no hidden fees before any work starts. There's $100 off major repairs, and financing is available for parts and labor.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our repairs are covered by our 3 years or 36,000 miles warranty on parts and labor, and we honor most extended warranties.
